Hanoi, Viet Nam

Monday, December 19th. Day 1. Travel day...this day is never fun. You have to get to the airport a few hours early to check in... lots of sitting around, bad plane food etc. We left late Monday evening and flew to Hong Kong first and then transferred to Hanoi. We landed in Hanoi right before midnight. The kids left the US on Sunday morning early and arrived just about the same time in Hanoi. 29 hours of traveling. They flew to Detroit then Tokyo and finally Hanoi. They were very tired and Sara and Jessica were not very happy as their suitcase stayed in Tokyo. They would not see a new set of clothes until Wednesday. We got to our little hole in the wall hotel "Golden Sun Legend Hotel" right in the middle of downtown Hanoi after midnight. We were picked up by our guide "Tao" at the airport and he would pick us up again at 8:00 am to begin our next day.
